ARTIST'S COMMENTS:

"Gardening is a hobby I have enjoyed for decades and it has given me an appreciation of the finer details of the natural world.

A few years ago we filled in our in ground pool in the back yard and replaced it with stone terraces, decks and gardens. I spent two summers building good soil and planting perennials in a white, yellow and blue colour scheme.

If my travel schedule permits, I love to grow a few vegetables such as beans, tomatoes and lettuces. The home grown varieties taste so good!

I love to visit gardens when I travel and I think of flowers and leaves as botanical sculptures.

These exquisite natural objects often find their way into my paintings and I tend to focus of one or two specimens so the details can be appreciated 'up close'.

Occasionally some wildlife will appear in my artwork in the form of insects or birds."
