After years of reflection, I have come to understand that my art is both a vital motivation for, as well as an essential product of, my life.

Stated another way, I love to discover and explore new horizons, so I have access to an abundance of painting subjects, and because I paint I am always searching out new places that inspire me to create art..

Light and shadow fascinate me and I am drawn to dramatic scenes for that reason. My natural instinct is to seek out harmonious surroundings - places that soothe the spirit - and many of my paintings reflect this harmony. I seem to notice the serenity of places and things that the casual observer might overlook; my art gives focus to the subject so viewers can enjoy a quiet moment to remember and contemplate.

I've created this web site to give you a glimpse of various facets of my artistic life - painting, watercolour workshops, commissions, exhibitions, and travel stories. Take a trip to my Virtual Studio and welcome to my world!

A good friend recently described to me what made my artwork appealing She said my paintings are reflective of inner beauty. When I asked if she meant the inner beauty of the subject, the viewer or the artist, she replied "Yes".
